How to play Gomoku
Gomoku, also called Five in a Row, is a strategy game played on a grid of intersections. Players alternate placing stones. Once placed, a stone does not move. The first player to create an unbroken line of five stones wins.
A useful first strategy
Strong positions do two things at once. A move that extends one line while creating another threat forces your opponent to choose which direction to block. Watch open-ended groups of three stones: they can quickly turn into threats on both ends.
